Weddings

Welcome! Marrying in church can be personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful.

St Winnow church is blessed with a stunning setting and now boasts a wonderful set of bells to welcome you on your special day. We have ample room for your family and friends to share in this momentous occasion, decorated by our talented flower team, if you wish. You will follow in the footsteps of countless happy couples who have blessed their union here over hundreds of years. Like them, your special day will become part of the story of this special place, for all time.

We are here to support you as you prepare for your wedding, offering help and guidance on such things as:

  • Choosing and understanding the vows and promises that you will make
  • Choosing hymns and readings
  • Church bells
  • Floral decorations

After your wedding we hope you will keep in touch with your news. You will be invited to our annual Patronal Festival, a service of dedication and homecoming for those, like you, sharing a special bond with St Winnow Church. It’s a great opportunity to remember your special day and share your memories with us over a cup of tea and homemade cakes.

An Engagement prayer for you

Heavenly Lord, thank You for drawing this couple together in love, and for the commitment that they have made to each other. We lift them up to You, and pray for Your blessing on their engagement and future life together.

Guide their choices and plans in the days that lie ahead. Strengthen and uphold them as together they make arrangements for their wedding day. Give them wisdom and understanding of the commitment that they have pledged to each other and may they find great joy and deep contentment in their love for each other.

May Your love and peace surround them and Your Holy Spirit lead and guide them.
This we ask in Jesus' name
Amen.
