Remembering Dear Friends

Sunday 3rd July 2022 was a very special Sunday for the congregation of St Winnow Church as we came together in a number of ways to commemorate some very dear friends.

During the Sunday morning service we were delighted to welcome the family of Ricky and Stella Mavis Isaacs, who presented a beautiful wooden bench dedicated to this well known, loved and well-remembered couple.   The bench has been placed near the porch, the perfect spot to sit, watch the world go by and enjoy the peace and beauty of the churchyard and River Fowey beyond.   We are sure Mavis and Ricky would have approved and loved to see their family smiling with friends in the churchyard on this very special day. 

That evening we were treated to a super concert by St Mewan Sinfonia, dedicated to our dear Honarary Churchwarden, Frances Stephens who died in September at the ripe old age of 95.  Frances played Double Bass with the St Mewan Sinfonia for many years and it was a joy to remember her together.  Proceeds from the concert went towards the Friends of St Winnow Church, a charity she was also deeply involved in, supporting  a place she always cherished.
